This is what Cinderella must have said when she walked into the bedroom at the Grand Floridian! This room is luxurious all around. Every corner of this room screams Victorian style. Let's take a walk throughout this bedroom and discover every corner of style. Don't forget to take a peek while reading and afterwards at the items you can use inspired by this gorgeous room for your own!

MASTER BEDROOM- TAKE ME AWAY!

Sheila Upholstered Bed

As soon as you walk through the door in this room you feel like you are in heaven. Disney has thought of every single idea to make this space feel Victorian and beautiful. All of the fabrics and finishes are subtle and blend in very well. First, The tufted leather headboard makes a huge statement as its centered in the room. It is adorned in a soft sage color and mimics the look of velvet.

Tilden Mirror

What I love about this bedroom is the two oval mirrors on either side of the bed. These coordinate with the oval frame above the couch very nicely. Instead of hanging a picture above the bed, they hung the mirrors on the side over the tables. The headboard is statement enough without adding anything over it. The two lamps on the side are also green and in the same color family as the two in the living room.

The best part of the bed is the bedding. What is on the bed is called a "Bed Scarf". It is a small piece of fabric that goes on the end of the bed and the sheets are the main bedding. Bed scarfs can be very expensive. You can always get fabric and make your own. Or get a quilt which is light and fold it at the bottom. Did you notice the end tables? One is square and one is round but they are the same color which is darker than the wood on the headboard. Having everything matched by color but different styles gives a designer look! Try it out!

Behind it all, the entire back wall has a Board and Batten wall with a chair rail at the top. Well talk about this below.

THE WRITING DESK- A CLASSIC

The writing desk reminds us of simpler times when writing a letter was the only way to communicate. The desk is a typical 4 leg writing desk with two drawers and a beautiful marble top. The lamp is a classic with a muted brass finish and a cream shade. Notice the fabric of the chair? It is the same as the fabric of the bedskirt and the curved legs break up a square look from the table and add a little visual flair. The super cute Mary Poppins picture in the frame reminds us of where we are.

THE SOFT LUXURIOUS VELVET CHAIR

There is just something about sitting in a soft velvet chair,looking out the window and relaxing. This chair has nice curved arms and back and shimmers all day. The geometric fringed pillow creates a focal point and has a similar pattern and color as the carpet below. The pillow being the same color as the carpet anchors the chair and blends in beautifully. ( you can get a quick glimpse at the curtains in this photo. I so wish I would have taken a full one)

THE BOARD AND BATTEN WALL AND WALLPAPER

The wallpaper in the background is very faint but makes a soft statement. This is the same exact wallpaper as in the living room behind the sofa but is only on one wall as well. The element that is behind the bed on the wall is a method of wainscot called "Board and Batten". I will include a tutorial on how you can create this in your home and it is super duper easy, you will be so surprised! The oval mirrors hang below the chair rail about six inches and the Board and Batten area is 36" high.

EVEN THE CEILING HAS A MOLDING DESIGN

The designers of these rooms have left no stone unturned. When we think of a Victorian space of course we think of crown molding. Of course we see the crown molding on the ceiling and the insert, but there is also molding in rectangular patterns around the ceiling as well. This is just simple molding added to the ceiling to create the look. This would be so easy to add to your ceiling as well to create the WOW look! Notice how the molding is always painted white to create that clean, fresh look!

THE TELEVISION AND DRESSER

The last large statement piece in this room is the cherry dresser and television across from the bed. This is the same finish as the marble writing desk and even has the same knobs. I love how this is not just a huge rectangle but dimension is added by having the bump out with the front drawers and also has dimension around the dresser with the picture frame panels on the drawers and the side! The television is mounted in a matching piece on the wall which allows full use of the top of the dresser!

The only area of this room i could not capture was the beautiful draperies in a beautiful light blue and cream Toile pattern. Toile is a french pattern cotton fabric. "Toile" simply means "cloth" in French. This fabric is very common in a traditional home.
