Vintage Silver and Glass Elegant Holiday Tablescape

The Holiday's are right around the corner and it's not too early to plan for a beautiful table setting. This is another way I have used the same vintage dishes to adorn the table for a memorable dinner.  Silver elements such as candlesticks, a pitcher and trays were added to make this elegant table fit for royalty. Take a peek to see how you can create this look with items you already have in your cabinets and it might be fun to shop for a few more pieces. Thrift stores are a wonderful resource to find many silver items! The silver pitcher below has been used for ice water as well as fresh flowers.

Did you notice the paper flowers that were made from pages of vintage books and topped with a button? A lace tablecloth is always a great piece to have because it can be used for so many occasions.  Hope you are inspired to create something memorable this holiday season!

Vintage Summer Girls Tea Party Tablescape

There is plenty of time this summer to organize a vintage tea party featuring vintage plates, tea cups and saucers! Little girls and big girls alike will enjoy finger sandwiches, cookies, and pastries while feeling like a princess. Top off the yummy treats with pink lemonade and great memories with friends.

This summer vintage tablescape was created with the same vintage dishes, glasses, linens and silverware used in my previous tablescape posts. If you haven't seen them, take a peek HERE. It has taken many years to acquire all the pieces I have used but today I am going to show you how to create the same look featuring unique tableware from my advertising affiliate partner, Beau-Coup.
If you haven't heard of Beau-Coup before, you are going to be in for a special treat!
I especially love their BRAND NEW vintage collection! They have made it super easy to create a beautiful vintage tablescape for the perfect little tea party, birthday party, and even a bridal or baby shower! Let's take a peek at a few of their items that can be easily ordered, quickly shipped and ready for a summertime celebration.

TEA CUPS AND SAUCERS
A tea party would not be complete without vintage tea cups and saucers. I do tons of thrift store and antique shopping and tea cups and saucers are one of the most difficult items to find. When I do find them, they can be pricey. Depending on the brand and the pattern, I have paid anywhere from $5 for a set to $20 for a set. Beau-Coup has brought you these beautiful mint colored paper cups with scalloped saucers. I just adore the pink floral pattern complete with gold trim!  You can click directly on the image to be taken to their website to browse the entire collection. When I saw the price of the 12 piece set I was stunned because they are absolutely adorable!

CAKE PLATES

These cake plates come in a set of 12 and there are 6 different patterns!  At first glance, these vintage cake plates look like fine china right out of an antique shop. The colors are vibrant and the scalloped edges with various floral patterns are what make them perfect! I am so excited about this collection. The diameter is approx. 6.75 inches and perfect for little hands.

        DESSERT PLATES

I can just imagine these dainty mis-matched vintage dessert plates in the hands of little girls giggling and enjoying their special tea party.  As a mom, I love this collection because if they drop, they don't break! The dessert plates are around the same size as the cake plates and come in three different patterns. The diameter is approx. 6.7 inches which is a perfect size for appetizers or dessert.

        TEA PARTY PLATES

When you are ready for the main course or are looking for a slightly larger plate, these tea party plates will make afternoon tea a delight. Are you noticing these patterns are different from the other plates. This is great because it adds interest and follows the vintage mis-matched look which we all love. They also come in sets of 12 and are approximately 8.5 inches in diameter.

     LARGE VINTAGE PLATES

Brides and mommies to be will be delighted when they see these large vintage plates adorning the table at their showers.  The 10.5 inch diameter is close to the size of a dinner plate and come in a set of 8 with the two different patterns. You can purchase gold chargers to set underneath the plates and then add a smaller dessert or cake plate on top with a cute name card. White or colorful solid napkins will match this collection perfectly.

          SERVING PLATES

As I write this post, I can imagine scones, cookies, cucumber tea sandwiches and mini cupcakes being served to guests on these large serving plates. The vibrant colors and scalloped edges are fabulous. They come in a set of 4 in the two patterns shown. They can be placed at a buffet table or directly on the main table and are sturdy enough to pass around. You could also use them on a tired stand to add height to your table.  So Pretty!

   VINTAGE TEA POT FAVOR BOXES

OMG just when I thought I had seen it all, I find these absolutely adorable vintage tea pot favor boxes.  They even come with the white ribbon!  Fill them with small chocolates or mints for each party guest to take home and the smiles and memories will continue long after the party is finished.  You can even make name tags and tie to the tea pot. Your guests will enjoy the added treat while finding their name at the table. I LOVE Turquoise.

                                   VINTAGE CREAMER VASE SET

This porcelain vintage inspired creamer set comes with 8 creamer cups that you can add in various places on your tea party tablescape. Fill them with roses, carnations, tulips or use them for creamer. Since they are porcelain, you can keep them forever and they coordinate with the vintage plates perfectly. Vintage tableware never goes out of style and since these are sold in a set of 8, you have so many possibilities and options how you would like to use them. You might want to keep a few on your kitchen counter for decorations.

Beau-Coup is always searching for new unique items to add their inventory to make your celebration a memorable one! Another reason my heart smiles with this vintage collection is that there is no clean up, no washing, drying or storing them away! The Liberty Pennant Garland will add additional vintage charm to your party as well as the vintage heart shaped key place card holders. Take a peek at their website and see how your celebration can be beautiful!

The Vintage Traveler Tablescape

Let's go on an Adventure- with a vintage suitcase, ceramic birds and more stunning vintage items to create a beautiful vintage travel inspired tablescape! I am using the same dishes, glasses and silverware that you have seen in my previous tablescape posts to show you how versatile dishes can be used to create so many unique themes.

I picked up this vintage suitcase at Goodwill and even though it is avacado green, when paired with the right decor looks fabulous!  I always like to layer the centerpieces to add height as well as texture. The first layer of the centerpiece is the cloth tablecloth.  Next, the suitcase, then another layer of fabric and finally the bird cage with the ceramic bird.  I also added the vintage salt and pepper shaker to the top of of the suitcase to add a different layer of height.  This centerpiece is a great way to seamlessly mix old and new decor to create something beautiful.

I love how the gold trim and the silver on the luggage and silverware look together.  These rose plates with the fold trim are some of my favorite pieces.  I actually have 12 plates but of course I never put the same ones on the table together.  Each plate on the table has a crochet doily underneath and they are all different as well.  I try to add many textured fabric pieces to my tablescapes and many layers.

I decided to place the napkins to the right of each place setting instead of in between the salad and dinner plate like I usually do.  These blue thumbprint goblets are heavy and perfect for any beverage.

I have so many of these vintage hankies and they are just so pretty.  I picked ones with pink and blue to place on top of the suitcase to make it more feminine. The salt and pepper shakers are super cute!

The avacado green water glasses and candy dish add to the color theme.

Take a peek way down at the end of the table where you can see the coral candy dish with lid!

No two plates on the table match.  I played with different combinations of salad and dinner plates

Next time you are setting a table for a gathering, mix and match different pieces even if they are not vintage.  Centerpieces don't always have to be flowers and candles.  Look around your house to find something unique for the centerpiece and start from there!

The Perfect Vintage Baby Shower Tablescape!

I came across these photos of a beautiful vintage baby shower and wanted to share how easy it can be to create an amazing tablescape with items you can find at thrift stores and on line shopping.  I am such a firm believer that beauty is not expensive, it's just a matter of using unique elements as well as a mixture of color, texture and height.  I hope you enjoy the photos and are inspired!

The centerpiece is a vintage baby scale and wooden baby blocks purchased from ebay.  The crochet doilies add softness to the metal baby scale.

Mixing Vintage dishes adds such charm to any table.

The tablecloth is a piece of chevron fabric from a local craft store.  This is a great example of how old and new mingle perfectly together.  The yellow and green vintage children's books are also part of the centerpiece on the other side of the scale.

The theme of the baby shower was "Cute As A Button" so a variety of buttons were used as table scatter as well as on top of the twine around the napkins.

The fabric pennant was made from various patterns and colors of fabric and can be used time and time again.

Crochet doilies were also used under each place setting to add another layer to the table.

These vintage goblets can easily be found at thrift stores.  I have been collecting them for years and have about 50 on hand!  They come in a smaller and larger size and can be mixed and matched for any occasion.

The key to a great looking table is adding pieces of different heights to create interest.

Vintage cotton napkins of several colors were used.

The great part is that now you have these items and once the shower is finished you can keep them or resell them! The fabric on the table has been used for multiple different themed parties.  The dishes can be used for a girls tea party, a bridal shower or for Sunday brunch.  The possibilities are endless.
